You can definitely have a supportive piece of furniture, or a wall nearby to help balance, if necessary. The ottoman assist is actually a version of the lying down position, only you’ll be lying across (surprise!) an ottoman instead of reclining against a flat surface. It’s a bit tricky, and you’ll need some strong neck muscles to maintain this position comfortably.
